Thumbs up Otto Rehhagel Future After Euro 2008

Greece coach Rehhagel to decide on future after Euro 2008

BERLIN (AFP) — Veteran German coach Otto Rehhagel said on Sunday he would not make up his mind over his future until after Greece had defended their European title next year.

The 69-year-old who became a hero in Greece when he guided them to the 2004 title in Portugal added that he had received offers and at his age he did not consider himself too old to carry on coaching.

"At the moment, I am employed by the Greek federation and I am focussing on the Euro.

"Once that is finished, we will see what happens: whether I stay, whether I go, whether they make me a new offer, and whether I accept it," Rehhagel told Sunday's edition of Die Welt.

"There have been approaches from several sources and they have asked me how long I want to stay in Greece, but I don't want to say anymore than that.

"I am certainly old, but I am still wanted by other clubs and I feel in good form."

Rehhagel, who is one of the most successful coaches in German football having won three German titles, three German Cups and the now defunct Cup Winners Cup in 1992 with Werder Bremen, said that he had no regrets over not accepting the offer to succeed Rudy Voller as national coach after Euro 2004.

"I do not regret having turned them down," he said.

Greece are one of six countries already qualified for the championships, which run from June 7-29 in both Austria and Switzerland.

Great topic, but I am not ready for no Otto dude there for us. Lets table it, at least till after the New Year (that is unless we have a stud replacement).
