I went to Victoria Yerros at Marrickville in Sydney... eventhough their yeeros was delicious the service was terrible... i started speaking greek to the guy that served me (becuase thats what I am use to back home in Canada..my parents brought me up to respect elders...) and the guy wasnt even excited that I was greek...
No offence to the Greek Australians but the greeks that I have met so far here are disgustingly unfriendly and so NOT Greek!!
I miss my Greek Canadians...

Try the Yeeros shop (west marickville yeeros) which is only up the road and the Yeeros is better

Dionisia, they are never friendly in that shop, they haven't been for years..but do understand that speaking Greek in there is no big deal for them, they here it all the time..trust me, yeeros shop, friendlier service, speak Greek with a smile and you will leave with a smile

Thanks Slayer for the advice.. I haven't been up that area ever since.... mind you if he was nicer it would have been a different story.. the excuse that they hear Greek all the time is not one at all.. in Toronto we have a nice clean Greek area that is much busier than the Marrickville area and when you walk into the shops and you speak Greek they make you feel like coming back..
but I'll give it another try at the shop your talking about... i hope not to be dissapointed

Good Luck with your Yeeros adventure

Looks like you are meeting the wrong Greeks in the wrong places

But unfriendly staff and being Greek go together famously.

Waiters in Greek resteraunts in Oz are just as stuck up, arrogant cunts as they are in Greece.
